Just collected my new works truck today, need a bit o' finishing tho'.
She is a 1934 Austin 12, converted during the wartime to a "pick up" by welding two 12 chassis together.
Not altogether a new project as I have been sympathetically rebuilding this from time to time over the last 15 years. I finally saved enough money to persuade the owner to sell her to me. Can just imagine the Historic Engine Co. logo on the door.
Wow, that is beautiful. Fantastic proportions. Love the solid wheels too. The logo will suit it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThankyou Stefan and thanks for your support.
ReplyDeleteSolid wheels are actual Austin commercial wheels I think.
I like that, very nice..
ReplyDeleteDon't know if you've heard of it but there's a great US series called 'Carnivale'. It follows a travelling circus during the depression - lots of freaks, magic and general weirdness - and also lots of great trucks with faded period logos. Definitely worth looking up.
ReplyDeletePlease dont chop it Eric, its beautiful as a highboy...
