Racing Mini A..head

Over the last few months, we have been working on this Shelsley Walsh championship 1380 Mini.
Unfortunately, it arrived with a suspected head gasket problem, but this escalated WITH the finding of a crack in a an inlet port.
Having taken the opportunity to check the individual piston TDC positions, relative flywheel timing marks and measure the cylinder bores as well as carry out a simple "in situ" block pressure test. We have now fitted a new ported head along with ARP studs. The carburettor has been removed and cleaned, it is surprising how water had backed up the long inlet tract. We now look forward to the next outing.
