Triumph Gloria Vitesse Six
Anticipation........there is nothing like the early excitement of a new project..
Although a large amount of work has already been carried out to a very high standard by the Gloria's previous owners, there is still lots to get involved with.
It is also a nice change to have a project that is not quite so much mechanical work but lots of hands on craft work, a view shared by Charlotte too.

The glove box and door cappings are quite interesting, they have a painted finish, similar to "Ragging" techniques used in interior design. Although we are not sure how original these are, I have seen this sort of thing on pre and post war cars. One story comes to mind of Facel Vega who use a painted dash pattern produced with the aid of beer and a feather on wet paint!
For now, we will be fitting the new teak items, but the painted ones will be protected and retained with the car. I will continue to make further enquiries in the motoring and furniture world of this period.
